Our digital trails can help bring a visit to Avalon Marshes to life by allowing visitors to access rich digital content to sites of significance and transforming the way in which they experience them.

Interactive digital trails, where a visitor’s smartphone enables them to access information and stories over their phone’s mobile connection are available to all visitors.

The digital trails are a great way of sharing the natural assets, and cultural and heritage stories that make a site unique.

Audio, video and imagery allows for layers of narrative, information and ideas to be shared while the user is experiencing the place – providing the potential for deeper and more personal engagement.

Our new digital trails contain a wealth of information about the wildlife, history and landscape of the Avalon Marshes.

How does it work?

It’s really quite simple, you won’t need to download any apps to engage with the trails and wider digital content. Look out for the new welcome signs at Westhay Moor National Nature Reserve (NNR), on each sign you’ll see a QR code, scan this with your phone to access a mobile visitor guide, interactive tour, species spotting guide and self-guided trails.

There are a range of trails available for different age groups and even some for the more adventurous.

Keep an eye out for new trails, we’ll be adding further experiences in the coming months.

The trails are completely free to use, you won’t need to download any apps or register to use them.
