Magical Moths

Did you know there are around 2500 species of moth in the United Kingdom, of which over 1900 may be found in Somerset?! Many are nocturnal, but there are day time moths too! Join us at RSPB Ham Wall to explore the magical world of both night time and day time moths.

This is a fun event, co-delivered with the Somerset Moth Group, aimed at arming you with knowledge of moths, their life cycle, how to trap them and identifying the different families of moths.

We will spend some time exploring and identifying the different moths from a moth trap. Once these have been released, we will go on a short walk, trying to see if we can spot any moth caterpillars or day time flying moths.

Warm clothes and sturdy walking shoes are required.
