Young Wardens – Practical Conservation Tasks

A day of hands-on scrub-clearing work to help restore the reed beds on RSPB Ham Wall National Nature Reserve. Working with hand-tools and lunch around the camp-fire will keep you warm and active all day!

Young Wardens is a group for 12-17 year-old’s wishing to take part in practical conservation activities or work towards the completion of their Duke of Edinburgh Award Community hours.

Registration and booking essential.

Places are limited. £5 per person. 

Young Wardens is a programme of activities designed for 12-17 year olds. Most sessions are based at the Avalon Marshes Centre, for those starting elsewhere we will email directions when you book.

ACCESSIBILTY

Please dress appropriately for the weather with stout footwear. This event will involve walking at a countryside site which contains uneven ground. If you have any additional mobility requirements or any other needs please contact us to discuss them. We will endeavour to accommodate them wherever possible. A packed lunch will also be required.
